It seems the longest saga of the summer has now come to a bitterly disappointing end from an Arsenal fans point of view.

Last night news broke from Uruguayan journalist Martin Chaquero that Suarez had declared his intention to stay at Liverpool whilst in Japan on international duty.

Other options?

Arsenal have started to draw up other potential targets as the end of the transfer window draws near. Edin Dzeko and Michu are the names being thrown about today on the rumour mills. Arsene Wenger has been a long time admirer of the Bosnian since his days at Wolfsburg and was keen to land the forward until Manchester City inevitably blew us out of the water.

Michu, after his stunning display in the Premiership last season is another viable option and would look to add to his 18 league goals. At a price much less than the €50 million Arsenal would have had to pay for Luis Suarez, this deal may have some legs.

Dzeko is a talented forward who has been in fine form during pre-season and looks to be one of Pellegrini’s main attackers this season after falling down the pecking order under Mancini. Tall, quick and a splendid first touch, Dzeko would add some firepower to our front line.

However I can help but feel underwhelmed. Dzeko is a good striker but not in the same league as Suarez who most Arsenal fans were desperate to see arrive. The same goes for Michu, a good goal scorer and a would be a very potent threat for us but it seems a step down from Suarez.

But of course, if a club dithers in the transfer market like Arsenal always does, this is what happens- you see Jovetic, Villa, Higuian all on the market, yet in typical Arsenal fashion we are not keen to spend money and we are left with a French U20 international on a free transfer.

I think you wil find AW was hoping Rooney was going to Chelski, he would then have made a bid for Torres, however Man U have stated they will not sell Rooney to Chelski, so AW could make a bid for him. They have not said they won't sell him to us.

Why can't you arsenal fans get over it and accept he is not coming to you - regardless of whether he did or didnt say this or that, there is NO CHANCE he would go to Arsenal. Henry wont allow it. If he does move, which I personally think is still around 50/50 it will ONLY be abroad.
Stop banging on about this goofy little punk and start praying you can squeeze into the CL places once again with that gem of a player you got from Auxerre.........

However Suarez - speaking after Uruguay's 4-2 win over Japan - has since dismissed those reports by saying: "I didn't say that."

there's no quote in there stating that he hasn't said that he wants to stay at Liverpool apart from the title!

Go to Kyodo site if you want the quotes of the full interview he gave after the game today.
Also the fabricated quotes of him saying he was going to stay are from some freelance journalist who isn't even in Japan coming a day after his camp said they would refuse to discuss his future!
If you believe some freelance journalists made up quotes over the biggest Japanese publication... you need your head testing

Lets get some facts right. Suarez only chose Arsenal because Real Madrid don't need him right now. He had a dream for playing for LFC, and has now done that, next stop RM. Now why in his right / sick mind would he join arsenal. 1) They have a has been manager 2) They haven't won anything for nearly 10 years. 3) Their best players move on every season. RVP, Fabregas, Nasri, Henry, Toure to name few. LFC in the mess they've been over the past few seasons have more far more silverware than arsenal, not to mention being crippled by past debts. As Toure said Suarez has more chances of winning trophies at LFC - very true! Also arsenal fans shouldn’t brag on about being in the CL for the last 17 seasons, because in that time, embarrassingly enough you should have won it once or even twice. Chelski on the other hand have made history being the first London team to win it, that must’ve hurt the goners – pride wise! Arsenal should take a long hard look at themselves and their fans should finally wake up to the fact that it'll be another 10 years before you win anything. As far as the CL titles concerned some clubs can only dream. Whilst others (carefully watch the stars) LFC *****. So now you have it Arsenal these are the cold hard facts. Dream on!!!! YNWA!!!!!

So some journalist says Suarez says; however only yesterday we were being told they were saying nothing about his future, even his agent was saying nothing and he told the press not to ask; but all of a sudden he tells some random journalist all.
I bet by end of play today that his camp will come out and deny all.

Suarez was using Arsenal, as platform towards Real Madrid, everyone knew that, but Wenger and 'easily to appease' Arsenal fans!

apparently according to reports coming out of japan suarez is now saying that he never made the previous comments about staying at liverpool and signing a new contract. it went beyond tiresome weeks ago.
