Swansea City have slapped a £25million price tag on Arsenal target Michu.

Arsene Wenger is now desperate to make a signing after the Gunners’ opening day defeat at home to Aston Villa, which was marred by boos and jeers directed at the Frenchman.

Signs reading “spend spend spend” were held up around the ground as not a penny has left the Emirates in transfer fees throughout the summer.

Fans’ tension boiled over as a signingless squad now depleted by countless injuries to key players conceded 3 goals against a resurgent Villa. Olivier Giroud’s 4th minute opener looked to get us off on the right foot only for 2 controversial penalty decisions, and one of the worst cases of defending the League has ever seen allowing the Villa left-back in to score a 3rd.

Simply Sanogo

Wenger’s biggest attempt at “spend spend spend” so far this summer has been the attempted transfer of Luis Suarez from Liverpool. However with Suarez appearing happy and smiling at Anfield, where he received a huge ovation from the Reds’ following, the deal looks to be well and truly dead.

The saga has taken up most of the summer window, with figures between £40 and £55million banded around.

After recently failing to dish out an extra £3million for Luis Gustavo, who later joined Wolfsburg (11th in the Bundesliga), the need to add depth to the paper thin squad has never been greater.

Nice to Michu, come to Arsenal?

Michu, playing only his second season in the Premiership, impressed in a well fought battle against Manchester United on Saturday. Although the scoreline finished convincingly 4-1 to United, Swansea battled excellently with Michu showing the diversity to play as a lone striker and attacking midfielder at different stages.

The Spaniard finished 5th in the Premier League top goalscorers in his debut season last year, after Swansea brought him in from La Liga at an astonishing £2million.

The Swans are unlikely to let him go easily, with the bar set at around £25million for the attacker. Plus, with Wenger stuttering over an extra £3million for Gustavo, arguably a player we needed more, it is hard to foresee the boss forking out the hefty asking price.

However fans’ reaction at the Emirates on Saturday is bound to be fresh in Wenger’s mind.

Time to spend.

Arsenal do not pay dividends and Wenger is not an Arsenal shareholder However through prudent financial management, the shares of Arsenal are worth £15,000 per share if you get it to buy The Board and major shareholders are long term investors who benefit from share appreciation over the years. Wenger is on a salary, about the 3rd highest in European footbal -£ 7.5m The pay is justified considering what he has achieved with the club- 3 premierships, 4FA Cups, including 2 doubles,an unbeaten season, 17 consecutive Champions league Competitions,Champio ns league final and the Emirates Stadium, the most modern stadium in world football.

All this negativity is why Arsenal lose crucial matches at home and win them away.Bayern 1-3at home;0-2away.Those who say buy buy buy,if you buy a player not in Suarez or Mascherano class how do you justify dropping Giroud or Wilshere to the bench?Failed footballers and managers masquerading as pundits&fickle fans should let Wenger do his job.

Bernard was a good option for arsenal we lack any serious winger on the left flunk, any deal now and the end of 2 September will indeed be a gamble of expensive. lets not make a deal like it was with Santos.

theres so much negativity around AFC at the mo its not a surprise the hint of joining us sends them running for the hills, which is where Michu would probably rather be?!

The season has already started and I doubt whether any club would allow any of its player go cheaply or even leave. Arsenal fun may have to wait till January window or next season or otherwise wenger will now buy players out of pressure of which the player may not be a real good one. The point is either sack wenger or wait for the worse this seaon because how many good players arsenal missed just because wenger's meanness. he mind more about profit than trophy(ies). Fun must stop being very forgetful at times where if arsenal win then they write "IN ARSENE WE TRUST" that is why wenger is not mindful of whatever results he harvest

We have the most clueless management team in the league. Have done since Dein was ousted. One can only hope that Usmanov will make an offer that Kroenke will accept. Then clear out the Board, Gazidis and at the end of this season Wenger. Bring in Laudrup or Klopp.

In order to get any signings this window Wenger will have to pay over the market value. One of the worst played poker hands ever. A club currently holding an Arsenal target holds all the cards. Embarrasing development. This downward spiral must be broken with a real class player, AW must show future targets that AFC means business otherwise it eill continue to deteriarate. Surprise us Arsene, land us a top player!

When arsenes presence causes fans to fight amongst themselves then its time to step down with dignity and pride.we all knew what was needed except arsene!! He then asks what players we think he should sign? Well he.s paid a lot of money to know the answer to that.its time for kroenke, gazidis and AW to leave now.clear deadwood from the board and move forward.maybe with de boer & bergkamp or laudrup as boss.

Why can we see that to start with signing a player we have ti start with top Goal keeper, defender,DM,a ttacking midfielder and a stricker, on saturday we start with a goal bt bcs our midfield n defence is poor what happen we got beat 3 -1, how can u have ramsey as a DM? I think wenger is deluded bcs he cnt see the reality,if we have bought Gustavo there is no way we could have loose that game,am worry bcs fernabachi gonna do d same just press wilsher n ramsey den d defend become funerable den goals will come every where,if u cnt defend with less attacking treat there is slim chance to win competitive match we see that in emirates cup n now prem game, why wenger cnt see this?

If we go for Michu at 25M it would be a mistake. We need some solid defenders and a midfield enforcer. Anyway, have practically given up on this present team because of the management. F@&k it why am I here, just want to ignore all of it at the moment.

Can't see us offering £25m for Michu when we wouldn't go over £23m for Higuain
