Jeremy Wilson of the Daily Telegraph believes Arsenal are only going to sign Kim Kallstrom in the final day of the January transfer window, putting to bed any stories linking Miroslav Klose with an Emirates move.

There is still hope that Arsène Wenger can spring a ‘Mesut Özil’ type surprise but it seems increasingly unlikely.

Targets deemed too expensive

Goal.com’s Wayne Veysey did state earlier that Wenger was targeting Blaise Matuidi and Morgan Schneiderlin but predictably, the duo were “deemed too expensive” and so Kallstrom is the final option.

Earlier we spoke about Emmanuel Frimpong leaving the club to be replaced by Kallstrom and alluded to the links with Klose but it all seems unlikely now.

Kallstrom

The Spartak Moscow midfielder will be signed to cover various injuries and suspensions recently suffered in midfield and allow Wenger to look at more proven and illustrious targets in the summer.

With under six hours remaining in the January transfer window, the signing of the Swedish 31-year-old will most likely be the only signing sanctioned by Wenger and Arsenal.

Fans will still be wishing for an Özil moment like we received in the last transfer window and rest assured Arsenal Latest will keep you up-to-date if anything occurs, although it does seem unlikely. Very unlikely.

My people this wenger's conduct is what i titled myopic philosophy. He really embarrassed my personality as one of the arsenal planning committee in Nigeria. I think what he did is out of the plan we had last week in london city. Am really disappointed.

Wenger is one of the highest paid coaches in the world but refuses to pay the going rate for top players, what a hypocrite. Highest paid under achieving coach in the world. No coach could go 9 years without winning anything anywhere in the world except at Arsenal

I hate Wenger, he must be a shareholder in arsenal, he is business minded. He is not after any trophy but more money. I regret the day I became an arsenal fans

Is anybody really surprised? surly we have become used to his bullish!t by now. He is an embarrassment in the transfer market, he hikes up the cost of tickets for the fans and then to add insult to injure he brings in nadda. He will however sign a new contract and we can still go on qualifying for the CL by getting into the top 4 so that in Wongers eyes is a result. So tired of this mans bullish!t.

Pathetic!-Arsenal will get everything that they deserve-absolutely nothing! They do not have the playing staff currently in place to win a trophy.Without Walcott they don't have sufficient backup in the centre-forward role or a plan B.Their fixtures during the course of February and particularly March will be their undoing.I'm not saying that Draxler was the answer but neither is "nobody"!(other than a mediocre midfielder who isn't match fit)Another year caught in this vicious circle and amazingly enough the manager is rewarded with a contract extension and even more money to put into his bank account.

usual Wenger policy..refusing to pay going rate now, when he has loads of ready cash.. he will have to pay out in tyhe summer even more..hes still tight, and he didnt have any real intention to pay for an outstanding talent ..but there
