The latest team news ahead of this week’s clash with Manchester City has been revealed.

Arsene Wenger has come out with a statement saying Giroud’s fitness is 50/50. He has also indicated that a late fitness test on Saturday will determine whether he will feature against City or not.

A cut on his knee during last week’s game against Swansea means the chances of him getting a run out on Sunday doesn’t look in our favour.

Perhaps a disappointment for Arsenal fans, as it would have been a great opportunity for Giroud to make a name for himself, as well as a chance to prove to Arsenal fans that Wenger made the right choice in signing him last summer.

We know City’s strength in defence. It would be a marvellous chance for Giroud to put their centre halves under pressure by using that physical and aerial presence he has.

So, it now looks as if Walcott will be playing up the middle and The Ox will move out right.

Fabianski to Forest?

Nottingham Forest have made an enquiry regarding the future of Polish keeper Lukasz Fabianski. After having been out for the majority of the season, Arsenal look willing to loan the player off for around a month in order to get some match fitness and game time.

He may not be a fans favourite at the Emirates, however he is decent backup if Szczesny were to get a knock. Szczesny has been the number one choice over a place in the starting line up for the last few years.

At the age of 27, Fabianski hopes to better his career and will want to tie down a permanent deal with Forest very soon. Alex McLeish has expressed interest in the Pole and looks determined to buy him in this transfer window.

Other team news

Yesterday we delivered the news that Abou Diaby and Andre Santos have both returned back from injury and could make a surprising appearance against City this Sunday.

Both played in an Under-21 game against West Brom with Diaby setting up Santos to score and equalise making it 1-1.
