The Rooney link, yes another look at the curious case that is our interest in Wayne Rooney. Why? Because it is interesting, taking one of your biggest rivals star players and unleashing him against them in a potential title challenging side.

Unhappy and confused Wayne

Now, Wayne Rooney is supposedly unhappy about not being the main man at United anymore, RvP has obviously taken over, but is it really going to happen?

Well, he’s come back from tour, this could be a knock but still he could be here negotiating a move (potentially).

Now Rooney would have a lot of takers, Chelsea and believe it or not Barcelona and PSG have been linked, with recent moves though you’d doubt that the latter 2 would have any genuine interest in Rooney.

While it was widely announced that Arsenal had a £30m bid turned down by Liverpool for Luis Suarez, last week, The Telegraph reported that we have upped the bid to £40m, possibly triggering the release clause in the Uruguayan’s contract.

This leaves it up to him as to whether he wants to move to north London or not.

The good

Luis Suarez is undeniably talented. He amassed goal to game ratio of over 1:2 (impressive for any striker) in his time at Liverpool, and got 30 goals in the most recent season. That is the type of player that Arsenal desperately need.

The loss of Van Persie has been made up for in other aspects of the game this season, namely by having a wider range to the scorers, with 4 players scoring over 10 league goals this season.

Sky Sources are reporting that former Gunners captain Cesc Fabregas is now Man United’s main transfer target of the summer.

United, who recently ‘lost’ Thiago Alcantara to Bayern Munich after the deal to take the Spanish midfielder to Old Trafford looked certain, have turned their attention to Barcelona teammate Fabregas and will look to pair him up with another former Arsenal man Robin van Persie.

Captain Fab

Fabregas was named Arsenal captain in 2008 after the departure of William Gallas and made 303 appearances in total – scoring 57 goals between 2003 and 2011.

Arsenal to miss out on QPR shot stopper

Napoli are close to finalising a deal to bring Arsenal target Julio Cesar to the Azzuri according to Sky Sports News. Arsene Wenger was thought to have been lining up the QPR player to step in between the sticks whilst also aiding Szczesny’s development after a mixed season from the young Pole.

The players agent confirmed that there was interest from Arsenal as well as Napoli saying that “the only two concrete track are Arsenal and Napoli” as well as suggesting there was also interest from Spanish side Villarreal.

Wenger Spoilt for Choice

The ongoing saga surrounding Gonzalo Higuain’s move to the Emirates has hit a stall – as the attacking options line up for Arsene Wenger.

Wenger is believed to be holding out on the apparent £23miilion move for Higuain as he believes the move to bring Liverpool’s Luis Suarez to North London could prove to be a better deal.
