Walcott is going to be back fit for the Everton game after his shoulder injury ruled him out for the last 2 games, which is a delight for us as he has been 1 of our brightest sparks this season.

Impact

We’ll have our most experienced England international up against Leighton Baines, one of the best left backs in the Premiership and with Walcott’s sheer pace it will be enough to get in behind and deliver from wide positions.

Chief scout Steve Rowley and former assistant manager Pat Rice have watched Zaha in the recent weeks and have both given glowing reviews. Wenger has now confirmed his interest in the Palace man too.

There’s no confirmed move, but at least it looks like we are going to put our names in for such a precocious talent who has been dubbed Crystal Palace’s greatest ever talent by BBC pundit Mark Bright.

The Offer

It’s said that Arsenal are going to put a first bid of £9m for Zaha when the transfer window opens in January but it is obvious that Palace will not let their star go on the cheap, especially when there is a £20m price tag being floated around by other sources and with the likes of Man City, Man United and Liverpool, 2 of which have funds to trump Arsenal also being linked with the Palace man it is important to get in there quick.

Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has described Arsenal's game with Everton as a 'six pointer' ahead of the Wednesday encounter at Goodison Park. Arsenal are one point off the Toffees at the moment, who have dropped a little after their very strong start to the season. Everton are arguably Arsenal's strongest challengers for fourth position (I know, I know) this season, as the shot-stopper was aware of:

“It will be a very good game for us to win", said the Pole. "We managed to get three points last year and it was a really tough match.

“We are outside the top four so our first target is to reach that top four. But our ambitions are much higher than that.

AVFCWe all know Villa have a young squad on their hands and if they can get everyone playing together they can perform well, we’ve seen them in recent weeks (against United) put it together and challenge for points. They may well have a relegation battle on their hands this season but that’s through no fault of their own.

Last time at Villa Park, Arsenal ran out 2-1 winners. Arsenal aren’t on the best form recently but morale boosting wins against Spurs and Montpellier will give the Gunners great confidence of going to Villa and getting a win against a Villa side with 1 win in the last 5 games.

Threats

So what are the threats posed to us by Villa? Their biggest threat is arguably Christian Benteke, who has 4 goals in all competitions. He has arguably been their best player this season and is thought of as one of the best buys this summer.

Earlier today the French media published a story claiming that Marouane Chamakh is set to finalise a move back to French club Bordeaux in January, the team he left on a free transfer to join Arsenal.

Past time

Chamakh has often been held up by fans as a shining example of mediocre signings made by Arsene Wenger in recent years. The Moroccan started brightly, hitting 14 goals before January as the main striker in Arsenal's 4-2-3-1 formation that promised so much in 2010/11.
