According to reports from the Daily Telegraph, Tottenham Hotspur have joined the race to secure the services of Arsenal target Ross Barkley.

Ross Barkley managed to impress many after he enjoyed a breakthrough campaign with Everton back in 2013/14 and many had touted at the time that the attacking midfielder would go on to become a star in the Premier League as well as for the England national team.

Fast forward three years on though, Barkley has not quite been able to match his hype and although the 23-year-old remains an extremely talented young player, he will have to add consistency into his game in order to fulfill the wonderful potential he possesses.

Marco Reus and Christian Pulisic being targeted by Arsenal

Arsenal are currently sweating over the possibility of losing both star men Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil next summer after failing to reach agreements over contract extensions for the star duo and although the Gunners are still doing their best to come to agreeable terms, they also seem to be preparing for the worst case scenario.

According to reports from the Sun, claims have been made that Arsenal will be making moves for Borussia Dortmund stars Marco Reus and Christian Pulisic next summer in the event that they lose the services of both Sanchez and Ozil.

According to reports from the Guardian, Liverpool will be looking to make a swoop for Arsenal attacker Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain during the January transfer window.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has not quite managed to fulfill his potential at Arsenal since joining from Southampton during the summer of 2011 as a talented young teenager and although the attacker is an important player for the Gunners, he has not been able to cement his place as a regular in the first team.

Oxlade-Chamberlain has performed well so far this season but he has been in and out of the team due to intense competition for places, and with his contract set to expire in 2018, there has been a lot of speculation surrounding his long term future at the Emirates Stadium.

Speaking to the club’s official website, Francis Coquelin has gone on to explain that he brings balance to the Arsenal side.

Coquelin’s loan spell at Charlton Athletic during the 2014/15 season was cut short due to Arsenal’s injury crisis in midfield and since making a return to the Emirates Stadium from the Valley, the Frenchman has unexpectedly managed to become an integral figure of the Gunners’ first team.

The 25-year-old has put in numerous quality performances at the middle of the park for Arsenal over the past two seasons and despite the big money arrival of Granit Xhaka over the summer, the ex-Lorient star remains a crucial component for the North London giants during the current campaign.

Speaking to Arsenal’s official website, Alexis Sanchez has gone on to state his belief that he would have enjoyed playing alongside club legend Thierry Henry.

Alan Smith, Ian Wright, Dennis Bergkamp, Ted Drake and John Radford are just some of the legendary strikers to have donned the famous Arsenal jersey over the years but there is no arguing with the fact that the Gunners’ greatest ever frontman was Thierry Henry.

Henry scored a sensational 226 goals in 369 appearances for the North London outfit and he remains the club’s all-time record goalscorer – a feat which looks very unlikely to be surpassed any time soon.
