The sensational transfer of Luis Suárez continues to move closer and closer as Arsenal has triggered a clause in his contract - Suarez is aware of the bid now (legally) and asked Liverpool to allow him to hold talks with Arsenal.

Furthermore, Arsenal and Suarez have already agreed personal terms in principle - a five year deal which would see him net £150k per week.

“He is very much a Liverpool player”

According to Brendan Rodgers, Suárez is still very much a Liverpool player, but I beg to differ.

The £150k per week is a significant raise from his current £120k per week contract at Liverpool. That coupled with Arsenal’s ability to offer him Champions League football seems to have encouraged Suárez to promptly start the process of handing in a formal transfer request.

Also, Suárez couldn’t have seemed less interested in Liverpool’s friendly against Melbourne Victory today despite brilliantly setting up a goal by Iago Aspas.

He looks more like somebody who is barely a Liverpool player.

“What’re they smoking?”

John W Henry, Liverpool’s owner, posted via his official twitter account “What’re they smoking over there at Emirates?” A bit ironic coming from the guy who sanctioned the signing of Andy Carroll for £35 million, Stuart Downing for £20 million and still believes that Suárez will be in Merseyside next season.

If Suárez does in fact hand in a transfer request, Wenger’s cheeky £40,000,001 won’t be such a laughing matter to the Liverpool executives as we would probably end up landing him for closer to £45 million as opposed to Liverpool’s £55 million valuation of the Uruguayan.

Sign him quick

Arsenal do need to move swiftly, however, as Higuaín has sealed a move to Napoli. Ancelloti will be wanting to use those funds to replace the Argentine and will no doubt move in for Suárez very soon.

Arguing with Liverpool fans is like talking to a historian. Ain't Arsenal's fault if the club can offer what you can't (UCL football) year in year out.

I understand the frustration of LFC fans, as we fans of the Arsenal experienced it last year with VanPersie and ManU. It's just business as done by the big clubs all the time. If Suarez wants to go and LFC is offered enough money then it will happen, and nothing either fans of the Arsenal or Liverpool think, will matter one bit. But I understand that it can be quite disheartening to see your best player leave your club. Liverpool is a great club and they will be back in the thick of things before long.

It's really funny all these AFC fans who claimed the high ground and said they would never want a player like LS in their team and he is a disgrace etc etc. Not saying that anymore typical spineless plastic fans, I remember all the cements where are they now, all those people who were slating him seem to have gone into hiding. I always said get rid of him at the right price because he has no class as human being, great footballer but that's where it ends. So Wenger and AFC ready to sell his soul to the sell their souls to the devil by going against all their principals, it's very sad as I like AFC.

If you took the time to look into things rather than just spouting your mouth, you'd find a large number of Arsenal fans still don't want Luis Suarez at the club and wanted to bring in Gonzalo Higuain instead.

Arsenal have a bigger global fanbase than Liverpool. That's a fact, don't let Brendan Rodgers convince you other wise.

are ALL arsenal fans deluded? why would suarez be so excited about getting knocked out in the knockout stages of the champs league like arsenal do every year? oh, and hows the money spent on gervinho, arshavin, vermaelen, giroud and chamberlain looking?

HAHAHAHAHA A Liverpool fan questioning Arsenal's signings. All bar Arshavin would walk into the Liverpool starting XI, and considering only Giroud (though that might not be the case once we've taken your best player) is a starter for Arsenal, that might give you an indication why Suarez would rather play for Arsenal than Liverpool.
+1 #26 charlie 2013-07-25 23:13
Why is everyone arguing about how much previous signings cost and whose fans would fill what stadium. The point is that suarez don't won't to play for liverpool and Arsenal have a chance to sign a world -class player. Why should'nt we try?

As a gunner fan living in kirky liverpool I have to say that liverpool fans are great supporters of their club and of Suarez. I believe though like we lost rvp last year it will not be the end of the world and that arsenal and liverpool can both hopefully do well in the league next year.
-1 #22 Gooner get ya 2013-07-25 19:16
Arsenal are smacking teams around for fun on tour, just like we done to the champions of Europe,,,,, just like what we done in are last ten games in the league.... you Liverpool fans need to keep ur mouth shut about we won't qualify for the champions league. Where not a mid table club like you sad ***s.
+4 #21 Dino Abby 2013-07-25 11:00
Problem is Suarez decided he doesn't want to be playing for a mid table club like LP anymore. He may opt to join Arsenal or even RM as long as he can leave LP. Why the need for the fans to be sour grapes? Don't blame the whole world for your own problem. Have a bit of dignity and move on..
-1 #20 carl 2013-07-25 10:43
Your all forgetting that LFC have a say in all this, we do not have to sell him to AFC, for the hell of it I'd let yo bid 45 to 50 mil for him then let him go to Real Madrdid for 30mil.
Hard to believe all these gooners, the same ones who called Suarez a disgrace an should be banned for life now want him in their team, what a load of hypocrites...

Agrees personal terms? Really?
Quote from the Guardian 20 June 2013:
Gonzalo Higuaín has reached an agreement in principle with Arsenal over personal terms on a four-year contract, as his move from Real Madrid edges closer. The Argentina striker is the marquee addition that Arsène Wenger wants this summer and the manager is ready to break the Arsenal transfer record to sign him.

You list all of those players and they still don't add up to the price of Carrol and Henderson. Not to mention Giroud is better than Carrol and camberlain is going to be a beast.

Just a question? what would happen if Arsenal didnt get through the qualifiers for this season CL? didnt he say he wanted to leave the UK becasue of the press? Talented no doubt but the blokes a complete nutter and it will be only a matter of time befoe he wants to leave and go to spain. Think Arsenal need to be a bit more proactive in signing players quickly otherwise enjly the CL whilst it lasts as it may be years like Liverpook befote you get another chance.
