Numerous sources (BBC, Telegraph..) continue to claim that Arsenal are in for the French striker and his Argentinian teammate, Angel di Maria.

Yet with a number rumours surrounding certain Real Madrid signings could mean that Benzema is forced onto the bench and therefore could see him looking for a new club.

After Arsenal’s 3-0 win over Fenerbahce in midweek, rumours circulated that a £40million bid for Benzema has been produced despite the player’s current contract running until 2015.

On the same day, yet more rumours claimed that Benzema was in new contract talks with the Galacticos, despite his likely loss of position due to world record signing Gareth Bale’s Hollywood arrival at the Bernabeu.

He shall not be moved

Earlier in the summer, Benzema sounded fairly convincing while saying he would stay put in Spain:

"Of course I’m staying. I’m happy at Real Madrid and I’m not going to leave. I’m eager to win titles, but I think we all need to disconnect a bit.

“Keep supporting us as always and next season we’ll give our all and try to win domestic titles and of course the Champions League.”

Yet even if Madrid do sign Bale, their striker situation is severely depleted. Gonzalo Higuain (yeah, him) joined Napoli this year as did youngster Jose Callejon.

This leaves Benzema and Morata in the attacking positions with Ronaldo likely to move central to accommodate Gareth Bale. Selling Benzema wouldn’t really make sense.

Not this guy again…

Yet the rumours go on – and the deciding factor for a transfer roundabout could be the end to a transfer saga we have already seen enough of. Luis Suarez.

Yes the deal relies on the man who we have spent the best part of a month chasing after while rivals signed players and we were left with squat. Yet a move for Suarez to La Liga would open the door for one of their attackers to leave – freeing up Benzema? Arsene Wenger has claimed himself that the Benzema deal is out of his hands.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has already said he expects Madrid to come in for Suarez before the end of the window, and the Uruguayan has already publicly praised Madrid in the same interview where he scrutinised British life.
