Arsenal target Angel di Maria has once again reaffirmed he is happy where he is.
The Argentinian was rumoured to be leaving the Galacticos as they look likely to complete the world record signing of Gareth Bale from Spurs in the next week.
Di Maria, who’s left wing position is under threat from the record breaking Welshman, was said to be looking for a new club as the beckoning of the Brazil World Cup makes the need for first team football a must, especially when you play for a country who boasts some of the best attacking threat in the world with the likes of Messi, Tevez an Pastore.
With Cristiano Ronaldo the first name on the teamsheet for Madrid, and Ancelotti unlikely to start the world’s most expensive player on the bench, di Maria’s position is understandable itchy.
Arsenal were frontrunners to land the 25-year-old however needed to work fast as Turkish giants Galatasaray also looked to gain the wingers signature.
Staying put
However he seems to have quashed any worries over his future by this week pledging his allegiance to Madrid despite the influx of Premier League talent in Bale and possibly Suarez:
"I understand that the club is strengthening and they are precise in what they do," Di Maria is quoted by AS.
"But I signed up to 2018 just a year ago and my desire is to stay in the Bernabeu."
The Argentinian earned the plaudits from boss Carlo Ancelotti after his man of the match performance at Granada in the Primera Division and now looks set to remain a Galactico.
He was hoped to be the most likely of the quartet of players rumoured to be leaving the Bernabeu, along with Casillas, Ozil and Benzema.
However in the past week Benzema and now di Maria have pledged their future to the club who have now spent over £860million since 2000.
