Two talented attackers have apparently snubbed Arsenal and other clubs interested in their services this week by committing their future to their parent teams.
Torino’s Alessio Cerci, who we revealed on Monday was being watched by a number of scouts, has played down speculation linking him with a move away from the Turin club.
The talented Italian revealed he hasn’t spoken to any other teams, he said:
“It’s not true. I haven’t spoken to anyone.”
Cerci was talking to Tuttosport and President of his club, Urbano Cairo told TMW that their winger will not be leaving in January.
“I haven’t received any calls from England for Cerci, even if I read in the newspaper that there is interest from British clubs,” said Cairo.
“As far as I am concerned, there’s not truth to it. Will he stay at Torino in January? Of course.”
The other forward who will be snubbing interest from us and Chelsea is West Brom’s Saido Berahino.
Jamie Sanderson of the Metro believes the talented English forward will be committing his future to the Baggies soon.
He adds that the England under-21 forward is on a £850-a-week salary and that this will be largely increased should he sign a new four year deal with the Midlands side.
Berahino has scored six times in nine first team appearances this year, including at Old Trafford, and could be a surprise package in England’s World Cup squad should he continue flourishing throughout the year.
He is expected to sign his new deal over the next few days and that will make it more difficult for the Gunners to sign the forward should they wish in the near future.
