Arsenal remain confident over landing their top two transfer targets this summer, right-back Mathieu Debuchy and striker Alexis Sanchez both edging closer to the exit door of their respective clubs.

French Fancy

Debuchy, who will be lining up for France this afternoon at the expense of ex-Gunner Bacary Sagna, has fuelled speculation that a transfer to the Emirates is imminent, after removing all Newcastle United mentions from his Twitter profile in the past 24 hours.

The 28 year-old has been linked with Arsenal in the build up to Sagna’s departure, The Independent reporting that the defender would be available for a reasonable £11 million, a fee that would suit both parties sufficiently.

With Champions League football a priority for Debuchy, it is thought that despite Monaco and PSG’s slow advances, the player will not make any permanent decisions until he returns from Brazil in the next week.

Twitter Tricks

Meanwhile, Arsenal’s pursuit of Alexis Sanchez has taken another twist in the tale, after the Chilean forward’s agent, Fernando Felicevich, followed Olivier Giroud, Mesut Özil, Mikel Arteta and Santi Cazorla on Twitter yesterday evening.

While nothing has been denied, it is still thought that Liverpool are in control of the deal, after Liverpool representatives met with Sanchez’ camp, in parallel to transfer negotiations with Barcelona target Luis Suarez.

Despite this, Arsenal are renegotiating a fee with the Catalan based club, after the North London club were told to increase their initial £22 million offer placed last week.

As reported by Arsenal Latest yesterday, it is thought that personal terms will not be an issue, a £130,000 a week wage coupled with a sign-on fee putting the ball in the Gunners court for this deal.

Deadly Duo

The signing of a right back is imperative, as despite the promise shown by Carl Jenkinson, he is not quite ready to slot into a reformed Arsenal backline.

Debuchy has international experience and looks ready to make the jump to Europe’s highest level.

The situation with Sanchez has not changed, the world-class talent understandably biding his time for the best offer for himself and his family.
