After wrapping up the Petr Cech transfer, Arsenal were touted to have set their sights on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, but reports from Germany now claim that his club are determined not to let him go through the exit door this summer.

Thanks to imminent departures of the likes of Lukas Podolski, Arsene Wenger is now under pressure to bring down a top-quality striker to not fall short of numbers.

Having failed to acquire the services of Alexandre Lacazette and a few other prime targets, the French manager turned to the Gabon international to bolster his striking options.

Nevertheless, Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc has put the accent on the resolute of the German club stating that they were not interested in selling the 26-year-old.

He was easily the standout performer last season, registering his name on the score-sheet on twenty-five occasions and it is understandable how his employers are reluctant to let him go.

Arsenal are already  reported to have lost the pole position to Atletico Madrid in the pursuit of Jackson Martinez and the Gunners will, thus, be linked with every wantaway striker – Stephan El Shaarawy and the likes - in the forthcoming days.

Given the non-availability of world-class strikers in the market, the Arsenal manager may even resort to employing Theo Walcott as a centre-forward and will certainly not get sticks in the event of the Englishman reciprocating his late-season heroics.
