Newcastle United midfielder Moussa Sissoko is desperate to finally earn his dream switch to Emirates Stadium, with Spanish news outlet Marca reporting that he “loves the idea” of moving to Arsenal this summer.

With the Magpies set to play Championship football next season, he wants to complete a move away from St James’ Park. Liverpool are believed to be willing to offer the attacking midfielder an early return to the English top-flight, but the player seemingly favours an Arsenal move.

Sissoko has been linked with a move to Arsenal for quite some time now, but Arsenal’s interest in the French international has cooled down, thanks to a series of underwhelming displays for Newcastle. Despite Arsenal not being interested in his services, the 26-year-old French international, a reported Arsenal admirer, has issued numerous come-and-get-me pleas to the London club.

Arsenal have a wealth of options in the midfield in spite of the departure of three veteran midfielders in Mathieu Flamini, Mikel Arteta, and Tomas Rosicky. The midfield is so stacked that highly-talented youngsters such as Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Daniel Crowley, and Jon Toral are all set to go out on loan again. In addition, with Arsenal’s new number 20 in Jeff Reine-Adelaide being promoted to the first team, signing a midfielder is not high on the Premier League runners-up’s agenda.

However, Arsene Wenger is looking to add a world-class striker to his roster after bringing down Granit Xhaka and Takuma Asano.

Familiar names such as Romelu Lukaku, Alexandre Lacazette, and Alvaro Morata have been linked with a move; Arsenal can be tipped to announce the arrival of one of the above-mentioned three in the next few days.
