Ozil wants Wilshere’s shirt

Ozil has been wearing the number 11 jersey at Arsenal since his £42.5 million move from Real Madrid back in 2013 but the German international has now gone on to state that he wants the squad number 10.

The number 10 jersey at Arsenal is currently vacant following Jack Wilshere’s departure to Bournemouth this summer and speaking to the German media, Ozil has insisted that he would like to take over the number as it is available at the moment.

The playmaker was quoted saying by the Kicker (via the Daily Mirror), "Since Wilshere’s departure last summer, the number is free, but I have yet to get it."

Wilshere sends a heartfelt message to mate Danny Welbeck

Danny Welbeck finally managed to make a return to the pitch for their first time since May after recovering from an anterior cruciate knee ligament injury during Arsenal’s 2-1 FA Cup third round victory over Preston North End on Sunday.

Arsenal fans would undoubtedly have been delighted to see Welbeck back in action once again and now on loan Bournemouth midfielder Jack Wilshere has also gone on to hail the striker following his return to full fitness.

He posted on Instagram, "Happy to see my boy Welbz back! The team has missed his quality. #DatGuy."

Gibbs set for Arsenal exit this summer, Gaya to come in

Despite being a useful squad player for Arsenal, Kieran Gibbs has never quite managed to establish himself as a regular for the Gunners first team and the 27-year-old currently finds himself playing second fiddle to Nacho Monreal.

With Arsenal currently actively looking to acquire the services of an established new left-back, the Daily Telegraph have claimed that Gibbs will be seeking pastures new upon the end of the current Premier League campaign.

The report adds that one of the left-backs currently in the shortlist for Arsenal at the moment is Valencia star Jose Gaya and the Gunners could be making a move for the talented Spaniard next summer.
