Wheels are turning, dominoes are falling. Whatever metaphor you want to use, Arsenal’s transfer business, at this point fairly steady, is churning into overdrive. Major and minor outs, likely to be combined with major ins, are being worked on and completed as the end of the transfer window looms.

‘He’ is gone, is ‘he’ being replaced?

Robin Van Persie underwent his medical at Bridgewater hospital, and excepting a major problem, has essentially completed his move to Manchester United. This brings to an ultimate end this year’s saga. Lovely jubbly. While interviewed recently, Arsene Wenger said of potential replacements “we have already replaced him with Podolski and Giroud, Llorente doesn’t interest me”.

This could either mean that Wenger is interested in other attackers, just not Llorente, or that he is interested in Llorente and is covering his tracks. What is clear is that despite his words, Arsene is looking for another attacker, as I explained yesterday.

Whoever they are, they won’t be wearing number 10. That’s gone to Jack Wilshere.

Bartley out, Mbiwa in?

This one surprised us all. Kyle Bartley has moved to Swansea City for 1M, because, well, he wasn’t good enough to play for Arsenal. It was assumed he’d go on loan, having been promoted to the first team squad, but it looks like it was to improve his price. I wish him luck. He’s left with grace and is grateful for his time at Arsenal, if his twitter is anything to go by.

This could open the door for a new centre-back, possibly the Montpelier defender Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa. He’d command game time, but as a rotation option and a right back coverer I think he’d get it, especially when one of our three first choice CB’s is injured.

Song’s gone, Arsene’s ANGRY

Alex Song apparently today had a massive brawl with Arsene Wenger, and stormed out of the training ground, saying goodbye to the rest of the squad. This isn’t in the papers, but it’s on a variety of trustworthy twitter accounts. Darren Dein has apparently twisted his head in the wrong direction and he was acting like a spoiled brat. Just to clarify, he didn’t actually have a fight with Arsene. My money would be on Arsene at the moment. He’s an angry man.

Arsene Wenger is sick and tired of players who don’t want to give 100% for Arsenal. He’s bored of the attitude of players who have a losing mentality and blame other elements of the squad for their own inability to help Arsenal win things. He’s rebuilding.

And how.

First up, Arsenal are supposedly in for Lucas Biglia of Anderlecht, as a replacement for Song. This could have legs, though many commentators are saying he isn’t good enough for Arsenal yet. And with Wenger’s new policy, “not yet” seems to mean “never”, so perhaps not. Nuri Sahin’s move, supposedly hijacked by Liverpool, is now back on, though there are 3 other teams interested. He prefers Arsenal though.

Angel Rangel was linked to Arsenal, with two Arsenal players going on loan to Swansea as part of the deal. Kyle Bartley was thought to have confirmed this deal, but his transfer is permanent. It could still be possible however, as right-back cover he’d be great.

That’s all for now, but Arsenal are getting busy. There’ll be a lot more tomorrow.

RVP n Song ain't loyal arsenal players so I don't mind that their gone if only we replaced them by signing: "Yann M'Villa" and a quality striker like "Hulk" because we have the money from the sale of them treaders!! and this will insure us to be a top team and win titles!!
