Reports are coming out that Arsenal are to send scouts out to monitor Morgan Schneiderlin.

With Arteta nearing his expiry date, Arsenal are to make a move for a midfielder to replace the Spaniard. As Arsenal have been a club to favour French players, Arsenal are understood to send scouts to Southampton’s final match against Manchester United to monitor Morgan Schneiderlin.

Arsenal are understood to rate the Southampton midfielder highly and ever since joining the club in 2008, the player has been an ever present player in the first team. It is understood that the player is not ruling out any move as he has always dreamed of playing at a big club.

It is the understanding of Telegraph sport that Arsenal have made an enquiry for Bayern Munich’s defensive midfielder Javi Martinez.

Jeremy Wilson who writes about Arsenal tweeted the following:

“Arsenal interested in Javi Martinez - holding midfield key priority this summer with striker and r-back.”

He then provided the link to the article which says Martinez is unhappy with his role under Guardiola.

According to sports reporter Francois Piraux Serge Aurier will sign for Arsenal this summer. Aurier has been linked with Arsenal for a while and plays at right back which may be a clear indication that Sagna is about to depart.

Francois Piraux tweeted:

“EXCLUSIVE: Toulouse defender Serge Aurier will sign to Arsenal this summer.”

“News about Serge Aurier from a reliable source and a friend.”

Yesterday saw Arsenal beat West Brom 1-0 and guarantee 4th place. Arsenal have been consistent and impressive at home with only losing 1 game which was against Villa at the start of the season. The big talking point though was about Wenger and Sagna’s future.

As I tuned into the lap of appreciation I was keen to look at Wenger and Sagna’s reactions. Bacary Sagna led the lap of appreciation but there was no signs that he is about to quit. Sometimes when a player is leaving they spend more time with the fans especially if they have been a loyal servant, which Sagna has been.

Despite their best efforts to screw it up, City managed to secure the three points at Goodison Park, which guarantees Arsenal’s tops four finish and entry into the nest season’s Champions League. The fact that this result means that Liverpool are less likely to win the league makes the result only that much sweeter, if still largely irrelevant from an Arsenal point of view.

The best we can do this season is to finish fourth, despite leading the table for the vast majority of the season. The feat of finishing in the top four for the 18th consecutive season is one that should not, however, be overlooked.

Sagna’s Last Home Game?

In the pre-match press conference on Friday, manager Arsene Wenger reveals that that the only new injury concern is that of Bacary Sagna, who has potentially been robbed of his last ever game at the Emirates Stadium with a knee injury. His contract situation is still unresolved, and you feel that anything left this late cannot be a good thing.
