Álvaro Morata could move to the Emirates on loan in January after Real Madrid changed their stance over the young forward and are now willing to allow him to leave Spain.

This is according to reports in various English and Spanish newspapers today. The Daily Mail believe it will take a fee of £1.7 million to secure the 21-year-old on a loan deal.

The Evening Standard reported that Morata was the top of Arsenal’s list of priorities after Nicklas Bendtner and Theo Walcott suffered injuries and they insist Carlo Ancelotti will allow him to move.

Arsène Wenger has given fans an update on the latest injuries ahead of Monday’s Premier League clash against Aston Villa.

The main news over the past week has been the injury to Theo Walcott but the Arsenal manager also gave updates on Aaron Ramsey, Kieron Gibbs and discussed several other players returning to fitness.

One of those was Nicklas Bendtner, who was reported yesterday to be returning to ‘light training’ next week according to the Times but that has been disproven but Wenger’s latest comments.

Borussia Dortmund are targeting talented youngster Serge Gnabry according to reports in Germany today, as they look to sign a replacement for Robert Lewandowski.

Gnabry wouldn’t be a direct replacement for the Polish forward as he is a winger but Jürgen Klopp recently said: “we are considering different players and different systems.”

English newspapers Daily Mirror and Daily Mail also reported Dortmund’s interest in the 18-year-old, with the latter suggesting that Klopp has had the German midfielder watched over last month.

Arsenal have contacted Portuguese club FC Porto over the availability of their 27-year-old striker Jackson Martinez.

Martinez has been on the Arsenal radar since the summer, and accelerated the chances of a deal happening by claiming that he is a Gunners fan.

A stumbling block in the deal would be Martinez’s hefty asking price, with the Portuguese champions likely to ask for in excess of £33million in order to active his release clause. Despite this, Wenger’s desperation for attacking backup – now made worse by the long term absence of Theo Walcott – could force him into another big transfer window deal.

It has been released today that Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti is not willing to let go of Spanish youngster and Arsenal target Alvaro Morata.

Ancelotti has been quoted saying:

Our thinking is very clear. There will be no new players and no exits. We have a very good squad”

This could come as a blow to Arsene Wenger as he was hoping to bring in the young forward on a 6 month loan and then he could purchase his main targets in the summer when they are not as expensive.
