With the crunch clash with high-flying West Brom on the horizon, Arsenal won't be cheered up by the fact that their two first-choice wingers are out of the game with injuries.

Piling up

Podolski, who's had a minor injury all season, has finally moved to the sidelines, while Walcott has not regained fitness despite a rest. They join Bacary Sagna and Laurent Koscielny on the sidelines. (Koscielny has completed week 1 of his 'three week' injury, let's see how long that one lasts).

Arsenal playmaker Tomas Rosicky has called for fans to get behind the team, especially at home games, as he feels the volatile atmosphere at the Emirates is hurting the team's performances.

Arsenal were booed off the pitch at half and full time during Saturday's 2-0 defeat to Swansea, and the Czech says he understands frustrations, but this is not the way to go.

After Arsenal's defeat to Swansea at the weekend, Steve Bould launched a tirade on the players, accusing them of 'letting us down all season' and not taking responsibility. This was confirmed by goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny.

Arsenal Latest have managed to find a recording of what the assistant manager said to the team, and the manuscript of that is to follow. Those who are faint or heart or afraid of angry Northerners should steer clear.

Arsenal dressing room, full time. The usual post-match action. Gervinho is stumbling around trying to keep his balance. Arteta is checking every bit of hair he has to make sure it's not out of place. It isn't.

Speaking after Arsenal's slump/malaise/crisis/apocalypse continued with a desperate 2-0 home defeat to Swansea City on Saturday, vice-captain Mikel Arteta has said that Arsenal's players are to blame and that fans are entitled to be upset:

"They've got all the right to be upset with us," said the Spaniard. "We can't keep asking them to be behind us if afterwards we don't give them back what they deserve. So it's up to us.

"We have to respect what they do. We will get criticised and it's part of our job, but the main thing is everyone gives 100 per cent and that's what we're trying to do.

"We can't keep asking the fans to stay behind us. They will be very frustrated and it's up to us to put it right."

Its safe to say that this season has been tough on the Gunners so far and tomorrow’s game against Swansea will be no exception.

Spurs’ win against Liverpool in the week coupled with our draw against Everton has left us in seventh place, five points adrift of the Champions League positions.

Bad timing

After Swansea’s performance against an in form West Brom team on Wednesday, it’s safe to say they’ll be high on confidence.  The game was a feast for the eyes and Swansea were impeccable.

Arsenal's midweek performance was by no means a poor result but the nature of the game means we wont be feeling quite as sharp as the Swans are.
