This morning it was announced that Arsenal have tied up a new shirt sponsorship with the Emirates airlines, the deal is worth £150million. With this deal the airlines retain the naming rights to the Ashburton Grove stadium until 2028, as well as having their name featured on the shirts until 2019.

What does this mean?

Well to start off with the £150million goes a long way to providing resources that can give us the opportunity to push for a couple of big names in the positions we still need to fill.

Arsenal have called a special press conference scheduled for 12 noon tomorrow. It's been described by the club as a 'major commercial announcement' and is one of the key deals the club need for their Financial Fair Play scheme to work.

Back to the future?

While the news was originally described as 'exclusive', it seems everybody and his dog (with an Arsenal contact at least) is aware that Arsenal are set to switch kit suppliers from Nike to Adidas as of 2014. Adidas made Arsenal's kit during the 80s and 90s, before Arsenal's pre-stadium move deal with Nike changed that.

Theo Walcott has revealed that he won’t set a timescale to renew his contract at Arsenal, with his current deal running out in the summer.

With his contract up in the summer, it has left Arsenal fans worrying that they could yet again lose one of their key talents, due to contracts not being renewed.

Patience

Theo has asked Gunners fans for patience as they grow ever more desperate for him to sign a new contract, and put an end to any rumours there are surrounding the player moving to new clubs.

In preparation for Arsenal's game against Montpelier on Wednesday night, Arsene Wenger clarified the injury situation at Arsenal, which has resembled a revolving door recently.

Gibbs returns

Kieran Gibbs has been training for a while and is back in contention for a starting berth having been out since the West Ham game. This is a welcome boost, as Arsenal's superb defensive record at the start of the season was largely down to his combination down the left-hand side with Lukas Podolski. It's notable that Podolski had a quieter period once Gibbs was out, though he seems back in form now.

Arsenal’s record goal-scorer and certified legend, Thierry Henry is to begin training with the Gunners again in December, during the close season for the MLS, where he currently plays for New York Red Bulls.

His return to the training ground has prompted speculation that Henry could once again put on the Arsenal colours in a third spell for the club.

Attacking options

Arsene Wenger is known to be looking to bolster his attacking options in January, with Gervinho away for six weeks at the Africa Cup of Nations, and Marouane Chamakh seemingly out of favour, the pressure is lying heavily on Giroud as the sole striker.
