The Rooney link, yes another look at the curious case that is our interest in Wayne Rooney. Why? Because it is interesting, taking one of your biggest rivals star players and unleashing him against them in a potential title challenging side.

Unhappy and confused Wayne

Now, Wayne Rooney is supposedly unhappy about not being the main man at United anymore, RvP has obviously taken over, but is it really going to happen?

Well, he’s come back from tour, this could be a knock but still he could be here negotiating a move (potentially).

Now Rooney would have a lot of takers, Chelsea and believe it or not Barcelona and PSG have been linked, with recent moves though you’d doubt that the latter 2 would have any genuine interest in Rooney.

Most probable suitors

So that realistically leaves Rooney with 2 choices, Chelsea and Arsenal. He goes to Chelsea, he has competition from Fernando Torres, Demba Ba and Romelu Lukaku, making himself part of a 4 choice system he seems to want away from and be forced into playing positions he doesn’t want to play.

Whereas at Arsenal, Wayne could be the main man in front of goal and part of 2 main choices, himself and Olivier Giroud (who’ll only get better as his Arsenal career goes on) and 3 or 4 back up/youth options; Lukas Podolski, Theo Walcott, Yaya Sanogo and Chuba Akpom.

Best to join Arsenal?

So the logical move for him would be to join Arsenal, if he wants out not a pay rise (again), the only stumbling block will be wages, although with our new budget, there could be less to worry about.

As well, I think he’d prefer to be in the side producing a lot of British talent in it, when playing for England, he seems a lot more excited by playing with Ox and Walcott than he did with Lennon and Parker, and example would be the raise in performance against Brazil recently when Ox came on and scored that beauty!

If we could get an excited Wayne Rooney with 2 or 3 more additions we could have a genuine title challenge on our hands.

It does beg the question though why would United sell him? They’ve missed out on Thiago and have been knocked back by Fabregas, so why ship out someone they haven’t yet replaced.

Any move for Fabregas would see our first refusal activated and then see Fabregas come back to the greener pastures of Arsenal, making United miss out on Thiago and Fabregas and lose Rooney.

Personally I cannot see anything wrong with United suffering that fate.

Rooney is 1 of 3 strikers that have been strongly linked to Arsenal recently and a move for him could have the most devastating effect on the Premier League and the teams around us will take notice.

A move for Higuain is a good move as he is a great finisher and would suit the system and Suarez well, I guess sometimes a genius is a little bit crazy; Cantona, Gazza, Zidane for example.

Rooney £25-£30mil, Higuain £25-£30mil, Suarez £40mil.

Rooney for me.

Would you swap Fabregas for Rooney? Buy back Fagregas, trade him to ManU for Rooney if they'll eat half of his wage packet. Job done.

If Chelsea signed Rooney they'd just get rid of Torres (if they can, if not Ba). Rooney wouldn't choose Arsenal over Chelsea if he had a decision to make.

Even if Rooney does leave Man Utd (which he's not)why would he want to go to a team that doesn't win trophies.seriously though, Arsenal would be the last team he'd want to go to
