Norwich

After the two week international break, the Gunners return to Premier League action and are on the road again looking to continue their impressive start to the season.

Carrow Road is their destination where they will take on the Canaries who have made a very poor start to the season not yet having won a league game and conceding nine goals in their last two games!

Recent meetings

The last time the sides met was in that nail biting 3-3 draw back in May. They’ve only played four games against each other, and in those, Arsenal are unbeaten, winning three and drawing one. Meetings between the sides tend to have a lot of goals in them averaging 4.8 goals per game, so expect an exciting contest!

After another tragically dull international break, all those silly World Cup qualifiers are finished and Arsenal get their players back in preparation for Saturday's game at Norwich.

Disappointment for Deutschland's Gunners

Per Mertesacker played the full 90 in a remarkable game for Germany, in which they squandered a 4-0 lead to draw 4-4 with Sweden. Arsenal style! It's worth pointing out that Per wasn't really to blame for Germany's capitulation, his defence partner Badstuber giving an awful performance.

The rapid rise of Wenger's most recent gem has startled many in the footballing world and thousands in the Goonersphere.

When signed from Charlton in the summer of 2011 few would have thought the half-Finnish full back would be training with the full England squad ahead of a World Cup qualifier.

Charlton - Champions League

Having made just 8 appearances for Charlton Athletic, Carl found the transition from sporadic League 1 action to Premier League football challenging.

Though it's only October, the rumour mill is in full swing, with the latest topic of interest being Arsenal's alleged 35m January transfer war chest, which Arsene Wenger is either keen or reluctant to spend, based on what paper you read.

Whatever you read, what seems correct is that Arsenal are keen to bring in another striker in January, with Marouane Chamakh expected to return to Bordeaux in the winter window.

Having had Laurent Koscielny pulled from their grasp, the injury gods decided to claim Theo Walcott instead.

Having started for England in their 5-0 win against San Marino, the winger lasted three minutes before a bizarre challenge from the San Marino goalkeeper knocked him over. He recovered but was substituted and will remain in hospital with a chest injury.

At the moment it's unclear as to the extent of Walcott's injury as his scan results haven't come back, but it's possible it could be broken ribs, which would see him out for a fair while.

That's not too much of a disaster, as Walcott's been largely peripheral this season, though when he's appeared he has impressed, scoring 4 goals.

It's a shame to see him hurt and possibly out of a few games, and it always does seem to happen to Arsenal. Ho hum.

Update: The FA have confirmed that Theo will miss England's next qualifier against Poland with a chest injury, which isn't specified. It's unknown if he'll miss any other games, as he hasn't been ruled out for a specific date.
