Arsene Wenger will be given selection boost ahead of Arsenal’s FA Cup fixture against Middlesbrough as Jack Wilshere is set for a premature return.

The English midfielder suffered an injury to his ankle ligament against Manchester United in November that has kept him out of action and was pictured at the training ground recently after an absence of about ten weeks.

Arsenal have received a huge blow in their pursuit of German international, Marco Reus. Reus had been linked with a move away from Borussia Dortmund, this season especially, due to the side’s weak performance in the league. Before their victory at the weekend, Jürgen Klopp’s side sat bottom of the Bundesliga.

Big clubs in Europe such as Manchester United, Chelsea and Real Madrid were said to be keen on the international however, it was reported a week or two ago that Reus was ready to snub all of these clubs and instead make the switch to work under Arsene Wenger.

Arsenal are looking to bounce back quickly from that crushing defeat to North London rivals, Tottenham at the weekend. The Gunners have a great chance to do so with a midweek tie against Leicester. Leicester are currently bottom in the Premier League and come at a good time for Arsenal who look to up their confidence again.
