Stevan Jovetic is remaining coy on links to Arsenal and Juventus, among others, speaking to the media today.

The forward insisted he wasn’t thinking about potential moves:

As the Papiers du News (newspapers) would have it, Thomas Vermaelen’s Arsenal future is rather uncertain.

From being captain at the start of the season to third-choice centre-back for the foreseeable future at the end of it, he and Arsenal have doubts over his continued playing at the Emirates.

World Cup

With the World Cup coming up at the end of the season, Vermaelen needs to be playing fairly regularly in order to make the Belgium squad. To do this he may need to move elsewhere. Both Barcelona and Manchester United are interested, which raises a few questions:

It’s not been the best couple of days for Arsenal in transfer terms. After their negotiations for Stevan Jovetic hit a snag, they could now lose out on a goalkeeping target, as Stoke’s Asmir Begovic could be set to move to Liverpool, according to the Bosnian press.

Replacement

Liverpool could offload Pepe Reina this summer and have a list of targets that includes Begovic. However, a deal may not be done with Stoke, as Arsenal were widely considered the front-runners previously.
