Arsenal have been linked with numerous forwards recently and another has entered the equation in Colombian Jackson Martínez.

The Porto forward’s agent has been discussing his clients future recently and revealed that the 27-year-old has meetings planned with a number of big European clubs.

Among them, are Arsenal and Portuguese newspaper Record believe that Arsène Wenger is ready to pay the Colombian’s €40 million release clause and recent comments suggest such a deal could take place soon.

Arsène Wenger and Arsenal could be given a helping hand in their pursuit for a top class forward by sponsors Puma - that is according to Sky Sport Italia.

They believe Puma, who Arsenal announced as a sponsor in January, could fund a move for AC Milan striker Mario Balotelli.

Puma ready to help Balotelli bid

According to the report, Puma would like Balotelli in the Premier League and Sky Sport Italia pundit Mario Giunta is quoted by Eurosport as writing: “Arsenal are very interested in Balotelli.

However, it is rumoured that Roma are leading the race for the forward as they are scheduled to have talks with Jackson's agent soon, although many other top clubs are interested.

Over the past couple of weeks there has been a lot of speculation that former Gunner Carlos Vela will re-sign for club after a 3 year stint away.

Last night it was reported that Real Sociedad's president Jokin Aperribay, was quoted telling the radio station Cadena SER:

“Arsenal have informed us that Vela would be with them next season.”

He says it simply as Arsenal included a release clause of around £3.5 million when Vela signed for Sociedad.

Vela has impressed in La Liga since moving away from London after a troubled six year spell.

If he does sign again let's hope we see him shine in Arsenal colours.
