After sensational performance midweek against Galatasaray new signing Alexis Sanchez seems to fill vacant left flank position in the midfield with ease.  In fact the speedy and direct 3 pronged attack of Sanchez Welbeck & Oxlade worked wonders.

Yes, it was made easy but nonetheless it was effective. Ozil sitting just behind the 3, makes the attack on paper the best we have at this stage. Throw in Walcott then we have an attack that can be feared both in the premier league and Europe.

Wilshere taking on the box to box role should complement the attack with his ability to drive forward and neat little one touch passing will only be beneficial to the abundance of speed up ahead of him.

There are many different storylines to go along with this fixture this time around. The reintroduction of Cesc Fabregas in the Premier League in blue, the Mourinho vs Wenger war of words last season, the new strike force that both teams possess in Diego Costa and Danny Welbeck and the brilliant unbeaten starts by both teams that could end for one this week.

All of these factors culminate this weekend when two heavyweights of the Premier League fight it out for supremacy.

This clash is much more than just 3 points up for grabs.

For Chelsea, it is a game that will solidify their spot at the top of the Premier league if they come out on top. For Arsenal, it is a game that kick starts their campaign if they come out victorious.

Hiding behind a series of first-team injuries, Arsène Wenger will be hoping that his Arsenal side can get their Champions League campaign back on track this Wednesday.

Must win game

The Gunners will line up against Galatasaray, knowing that anything but a win at the Emirates Stadium will be seen as a failure by the fans and management.

Saturday’s draw against Tottenham Hotspur was responsible not only for dropped points, but dropped players, as Mikel Arteta, Aaron Ramsey and Jack Wilshere all fell victim to injury.

The 10 days following the Gunners demolition of Aston Villa, should have ignited the squads credentials and challenging aspirations, with 3 home fixtures in a row before the daunting task of facing arguably the best team in the Premier League, Chelsea.

Southampton home was a disappointment, and worse the Derby against Spurs. More so, not the result but the fatalities we suffered during the match. This was supposed to be “THE FIXTURE”, however we were found wanting, and wanting all over the park. Spurs didn’t have a good game, but we made a mediocre Spurs side walk away with a point, after we should have put them to the sword.

The worst possible outcome was losing Arteta, Ramsey and possibly Wilshere. However, reports suggest Wilshere will be fine and could make it to face Galatasaray in the Champions League match on Wednesday, but should definitely be ready to face Chelsea on the weekend. The fact that our engine as decimated leaves a lot to be desired and a lot of questions have to be answered.

Arsenal will be looking to register another win in the 176th North London Derby against Tottenham this weekend and will do so with plenty of options in the attacking third.

Every point counts

Arsène Wenger told the media in his press conference that he is encouraged by his large squad and is hoping to utilise the intensity of a local clash to inspire his players to get all three points.

“We have all the best attacking players in the Premier League. North London derbies are always very intense and the players from both sides know each other so well.

“It’s an opportunity for us to take points in the Premier League where every point counts.”
