Arsenal fans might want to look away from their screens either on social media or their sky sports channel because it doesn’t seem likely that the Gunners are going to bring in any reinforcements on deadline day.

Rumors have been flying around about a plethora of players from Radamel Falcao and William Carvalho all the way to brand new targets such as Marco Reus and Alvaro Negredo among others but it doesn’t seem like anyone new will be coming in and David Ornstein did mention this in his earlier tweet.

William Carvalho still may join Arsenal before the deadline tonight at 11pm.

Arsenal have been long linked to Carvalho with apparent negotiations happening over the last few weeks.

This is still the case according to the Guardian sports Deputy editor Ed Aarons. Ed Aarons tweeted;

“Also told that Arsenal bid for William Carvalho from Sporting Lisbon is not dead... #afc”

As the clock ticks on transfer deadline players are still being linked with Arsenal which will allow Arsenal fans still to have a glimmer of hope.

Italian Journalist Tancredi Palmeri tweeted the following;

“Wenger is in Rome to join the 'Match for Peace' for the Pope. Rumours around already that he will meet Roma for Destro.

In fairness, Wenger did hold contacts for Destro until 2 days ago. But (if true) could be too short time for Roma to find a replacement”

Arsenal’s search for a striker this deadline day has proven to be a real damp squib.

First of all, the supposed pursuit of Radamel Falcao – a race that Arsenal supposedly led – has been lost at the prying hands of Manchester United this afternoon. Falcao will join United on a one-year loan deal worth £6million – just days after Arsenal were quoted £20million for a season long loan.

Falcao will join former Gunner Robin van Persie in the United attack freeing Danny Welbeck to supposedly join Spurs, rubbing salt in the wounds.

Arsenal officials were thought to have spoken to Falcao officials in Monaco at last week’s Champions League draw in Monte Carlo but he now looks set to join Van Gaal’s side.

BBC Sport’s David Ornstein has tweeted that there will be no more arrival at Arsenal barring any last minute deals.

This is what he had to say on twitter;

“Arsenal very unlikely to sign anyone before deadline. Barring late surprise & a couple of squad exits, #AFC business is done #bbcdeadlineday”

This has already sparked anger amongst Arsenal fans who are mostly talking about another chance being missed. This was expected to be the big summer of spending after the 10 year plan however, it has not gone to plan.
