After the past two results, many Gooners feared the worst against a Manchester City side in a good position to win the title. But after a poor start, Arsenal recovered well to get a 1-1 draw.
Wojciech Szczesny - 6 – There was nothing drastically wrong with the Pole. But his kicking was mediocre, and he made a couple of uncharacteristic handling errors. One worries that he's beginning to suffer from some mental fatigue.
Bacary Sagna – 8 – A solid first-half, but Sagna was arguably the game's best player in the second 45 minutes. Was the main outlet for much of Arsenal's attacking play, both on the ground, and in the air. Put in a series of superb crosses from the right-hand side.

A very frustrating game for Arsenal and much more for the fans. After being a goal down for most of the game Arsenal came back well through Podolski's impact, scoring and assisting.
However the team lacked urgency, pace and much desire to win the game and as a result poor defending and decision making resulted in an own goal ending the poor performance in a 2-2 draw.
Player Ratings
Wojciech Szczesny- 4 - Yet another poor performance from Szczesny. Failed to take charge of most decisions and as a result let in a very very poor goal in the 90th minute after being 2-1 up. As a result game ended 2-2
Bacary Sagna- 5 - Not a great performance. Wasn't sure if the player was a defender or an attacker. Often left in the middle of the field not make any contribution on either side.

On a day where there was plenty of optimism that we may get a result it was an afternoon which would drag and bee painful for all Arsenal fans and definitely one to forget.
Once again a 12:45 kick off proved to be Arsenals worst nightmare. This game ended 6-0 to Chelsea to go with the other mauling’s this season of 5-1 at Liverpool and 6-3 at Manchester City.
Last week showed a gritty determination to win the game at spurs but this had disappeared with 10 minutes gone. Arsenal looked like they didn’t have a clue, looked sloppy in midfield and Arsenal were duly punished.

So what seemed to be a special occasion for Arsene Wenger celebrating his 1000th game in change of Arsenal turned into a game of great humiliation.
Arsenal started the game pressing high with many pushing forward with the likes of Sagna and Gibbs both pushing up and as a result, left the defence in shambles going 2-0 down in the opening 7 minutes.
Soon it was 3-0 as Oxlade-Chamberlain handled in the box to concede a penalty with Gibbs getting the red card, which seemed harsh as he had nothing to do with the incident. Half time came and it was 4-0.
The second half started with substitutions for Arsenal. Arsenal tried to keep position and push forward when possible but the team was finding it tremendously difficult to make any impact on the game. Soon the score became 5-0 and not much later 6-0. Arsenal were falling apart with no convincing movement going forward and lacking any desire or passion.

This was a big win for The Gunners. Keeping their title hopes alive and all but making them a shoe-in for fourth place at least.
It was an unconvincing performance, saved only by the virtue of a Tottenham team that lacked any creativity and attacking prowess that came to sum up much of the game. Arsenal will see it as a challenge overcome as the month progresses and the title race hots up.
Ultimately the Arsenal boys came away with victory over their north London rivals, making it a hat-trick for the season, despite lacking the coherency that we gleaned from the previous two there is no doubt it will be positive for the psyche, a must win looking ahead to the remainder of March that promises to be a challenge.
The unconvincing counter
As the game got underway it looked as if we were in for another exciting afternoon at White Hart Lane and the Gunners instantly looked to grab the match by the scruff of the neck. Yet apart from a second minute thunderbolt from Rosicky, Arsenals forward movement lacked accuracy and direction in a counter-attacking game plan that we can’t claim to be accomplished.
