Arsenal was deserving losers on Saturday afternoon but could have rescued a point if Cazorla had not missed a penalty when he slipped.  From the start Arsenal were poor and sloppy which was added to with a low tempo. Things then got worst when Coquelin had to go off injured.  However, Arsenal then took the lead through a Giroud header but was pegged back by West Brom after poor defending from a free kick. The winner then was scored through an Arteta own goal.

This fixture last year was won by Arsenal through a Danny Welbeck header. Remember him? The game was somewhat overshadowed by protests by a minority of fans against Arsene Wenger.

Today the game was lost by the Arsenal, in what unfortunately what was the kind of performance that everyone was waiting for. What will be blamed? The famous hand break? Or the International break? Or the various breaks in bones and muscles that seem to hamper the Arsenal every year.

It was a series of unfortunate events that doomed the Gunners to a disappointing loss today. The title will be something of a dream if there are any more to follow.

Both teams shared the points in the north London derby but this was a much better point for Arsenal than Spurs. After seeing Manchester City drop points earlier Arsenal could have moved top by a clear two points. However, Arsenal were poor for 75 minutes of the game but an unlikely goal scorer in Gibbs made sure Arsenal got something.

A fantastic away win at the Liberty stadium sees Arsenal remain level on points with Manchester City. The win was much bigger after injuries to key players in midweek. After a poor first half many fans would have took a draw but an excellent Mesut Ӧzil provided the assists to see Arsenal home. The goal scorers included Giroud, Koscielny and the debutant Campbell.

Cech – 7 – An excellent performance again showing why it is so important to have a world class keeper. He dealt with everything well and gets another clean sheet.

Bellerin – 7 – Given a tough time by the dangerous Montero but did well. Made a crucial tackle when Gomis was through on goal. This happened after showing fantastic commitment by sprinting back from the halfway line.

Arsenal followed up with a win after their impressive midweek performance. Two headed goals from Giroud and Koscielny was enough to lift Arsenal up to the top of the league for at least 24 hours.
