Since arriving at Arsenal on 30th August 2011 under unusual circumstances, not completing his medical with LOSC Lille after hearing of Arsenal’s interest, Ju-Young (Chu-Young) Park has seen his first team opportunities well and truly limited. Not least by the form of an infamous Dutch player.

1 goal in a whole season, with 8 appearances, is hardly a record to be proud of.

After a disappointing loan spell in Spain with Celta Vigo, reports from Spanish publication Vavel suggest he may be on his marching orders from the Emirates very soon. Loosely translated from Spanish, the Vavel article reads; “Arsenal has broken his contract at the club, so that the future of this rundown scorer will be a mystery this summer,”

According to Télam, the National News Agency of Argentina, Gonzalo Higuaín will travel to London today to sign a three-year contract with Arsenal, as revealed by the player’s father and manager, Jorge.

Arsenal showing real desire to sign Higuaín above competing clubs

"We got permission from Real Madrid to negotiate face to face with Arsenal and luckily soon I see my son in the Premier League" said Jorge Higuaín. This seems a little premature, considering Arsenal’s unwillingness to meet Real Madrid’s £25.5m asking price, hoping to secure the deal for around £21m.

Despite this apparent stalemate, the Metro report that the two clubs have reached an agreement of £23m for Higuaín, therefore allowing the player to travel to London to sign a reported £100,000/week deal, matching that of Theo Walcott and Lukas Podolski.

... a talented but young one. Arsenal have announced that French youth international Yaya Sanogo has joined the club on a long-term contract.

The striker joins from Auxerre as a free agent and has had a mixed time with the Ligue 2 club.

Last season

He scored nine goals last season but has suffered some serious injury problems over the last few seasons, which have restricted him gaining valuable playing time.

Sanogo has played for his country at numerous levels and is currently representing France in the Fifa Under-20 World Cup in Turkey.

In the three matches he has featured in, he has found the net twice.

Arsenal have identified Queens Park Rangers goalkeeper Julio Cesar as the man to solve their keeper problems and put pressure on young but inconsistent first choice Wojciech Szczesny.

Arsene Wenger wants an experienced keeper for the coming season according to several reports and with Cesar keen on staying in London, the move would suit both parties.

Settled in London

Roma have been linked with the Brazil goalkeeper but after settling in London, he wants to remain there and with QPR resigned to his departure, Arsenal are front runners for his signature.

As everyone will undoubtedly know, Arsenal’s main transfer target this summer appears to be Real Madrid’s Argentine forward, Gonzalo Higuain, and as is the typical Arsenal way this deal seems to be taking an eternity to come to fruition. However, for once this may not be Arsenal’s fault.

Reports in Spain have suggested that Arsenal informed Real Madrid of their interest two weeks ago, and are as of yet still waiting for a reply from the Spanish giants.

It had been thought that Madrid would wait till appointing a new manager before agreeing to sell off their players, but following the appointment of Carlo Ancelotti earlier this week, little has progressed.
