The deal to bring Mesut Ozil to Arsenal is all but done.

Telegraph reporter Jeremy Wilson Tweeted not long ago that there were no issues on the transfer, with the €50million man waiting for the deal to become official:

“@JWTelegraph: No issues on Ozil - Arsenal putting together statement and lawyers reading and re-reading contract. It's all agreed and medical done”

The BBC’s David Ornstein posted a similar quote on the BBC Sport Live Feed:

“There a no issues or problems surrounding Arsenal's club-record signing of Mesut Ozil. The deal is being processed and Arsenal plan to announce it in the next couple of hours."

Arsenal have confirmed the signing of Palermo goalkeeper Emiliano Viviano on a season-long loan. The player will join on an initial one year deal with an option to buy.

The player has been closely monitored by Arsenal for some time, with the club failing in a bid last year. “Viviano is a player that we have rated for some time”

The Italian international, 27, has played for Brescia, Inter Milan, Bologna, Palermo and excelled for Fiorentina last season, making eleven clean sheets in thirty-two appearances. Although not appearing for the Azzurri since 2012, Viviano has received six caps and will be keen to challenge Federico Marchetti and Salvatore Sirigu as Gianluigi Buffon’s understudy.

An hour after Sky Sports News predicted the official signing of Mesut Ozil would take place; the club are still yet to make the announcement concrete.

The 2nd largest Premier League import ever, Ozil was supposedly expected to be announced as an Arsenal player at 6pm according to Sky.

No panic Arsenal fans, there is no danger of the deal falling through however with a deal as big as this one, everyone around the club is on tenterhooks to see when Ozil will be presented as an Arsenal player.

Mesut Özil inches closer and closer to Arsenal by the minute.

Today at the Bernabeu, at Gareth Bale’s unveiling, Real Madrid fans began chanting:

‘Özil no se vende,’ which translates to Özil is not for sale.

This noticeably disturbed Florentino Perez as he tried to quiet the fans down. However, the chant continued until he eventually put his finger to his mouth signalling the fans to stop the chant.

On the day that Arsenal broke their record transfer fee on German playmaker Mesut Ozil, goalkeeper Emiliano Viviano also agreed to join the Gunners on a season long loan deal.

Joining from Palermo in Serie A, Viviano will provide competition for the floundering Wojciech Szczesny. The 27-year-old ‘keeper has 6 caps for Italy and 6 caps for the Italian side at the Olympics, and will join with an initial price tag of £1million with the option to buy.

The Palermo man spent last season on loan at Fiorentina, where he played 32 times, and has represented his country at every age level since U19, making his international debut in a 5-0 win over the Faroe Islands in 2010.
