Arsenal are exploring the opportunity to sign one of Ron Vlaar and Matija Nastasic.

Ron Vlaar has been subject of plenty of speculation this summer  with clubs Southampton and Manchester United linked.

Vlaar was a standout in the Holland team at this year’s World cup.  It is believed any deal will cost Arsenal £12 million however; the main problem with any deal will be convincing Vlaar to come.

Joel Campbell could be one of the players heading out of the exit door on deadline day.

Reports in Portugal suggest that Campbell could be heading to Benfica either on loan or on a permanent transfer.

If Campbell is to go on loan then the deal will command a loan fee of £600,000 or £10 million for the permanent transfer.

Arsenal are determined to beat Manchester City to the signing of Monaco centre forward Radamel Falcao. It is believed that Arsenal first contacted Falcao’s representatives on Friday.

Arsenal were quoted a loan fee of £8.5 million and £10.4 million for his wages. The only concern with the deal is that Arsenal think he may already have a deal with Manchester City.  This would be a loan for the season.

Signing Falcao would be a statement of intent and would give this team believe.  Falcao is a natural goal scorer and would take this team forward.

There are always two sides to every story and it’s the same with Arsenal’s current situation.

A scrappy 2-1 win over Crystal Palace with a late Aaron Ramsey winner, a late 2-2 draw with Everton and a hard fought, nerve wrangling 1-0 win against Besiktas over two legs to confirm our place in the Champions League for the 17th season running.

One person might compliment Arsenal’s commitment and resoluteness in the past few weeks by grinding out results when they weren’t in the best of form. While someone else might bash into the Gunners because of wasted opportunities and lament Arsene Wenger into not spending money in necessary positions.

The message after the 1-1 draw with Leicester City is that Arsenal are very active in the transfer market. Wenger was quizzed by Sky Sports and this was Wenger had to say;

“The decision [to add players] isn’t difficult to make. It’s finding the personnel that’s the problem. We are open and we work on it, but let’s not fool ourselves that every time the solution to not winning a game is buying a new player.”

“I don’t want to speak about individual cases, we are very active.”

However, Wenger was quick to point out that even a team such as Manchester City with strikers can still lose games.
