Arsenal fans have become well accustomed to Champions League qualifiers over the years. Potential tricky ties have seen Fenerbahçe, FC Twente and Celtic dispatched over recent years and this year another potentially complicated fixture sees Turkish giants Beşiktaş stand in Arsenal’s way to the group stage of the competition.
Arsenal’s manner of sweeping aside this year’s Turkish Champions Fenerbahçe at the same point last year will give confidence to Gunners fans that they will once again see more than the one Champions League game at the Emirates this year. Most will predict a tight affair in Istanbul followed up by a home win to take the Gunners through.

It is rumoured that Greek defender Kostas Manolas has undergone a medical.
This was after Arsenal were quoted a fee of £8 million to secure his services. It now looks like Arsenal have won the race which featured Juventus.
The only sticking point on the deal may be playing time, which is because Manolas wants a guarantee that he will play regular football every week.
However, Wenger may not be able to do this as he will not break the partnership of Koscielny and Mertesacker. This would be a good deal as Manolas is a good defender and showed this at the world cup and was voted in the best 50 players. He would provide quality back up just like Vermaelen.
