While the Draxler saga continues, it seems as though every hour brings a different media outlet reporting a different verdict as to whether or not the deal will be completed, and whether or not it will be done in the current window.

At the moment it is looking unlikely but the time I have finished proof reading this, he could well have signed. If the deal were not to go through, here is a look across Europe over other players that may be available for a similar price range.

Ross Barkley

The Englishman has typified the revolution at Everton under Roberto Martinez. His manager has praised his mentality above all other traits, stating that it is something atypical of young English players.

Huge confusion is starting to arise surrounding Julian Draxler’s transfer to Arsenal as although many believed Arsenal officials were in Germany to speak with Schalke, their sporting director has rejected these claims.

Horst Heldt spoke at a news conference on Thursday and stated that Draxler will not be leaving the club in January or in the summer.

He also added that nobody was at his office on Wednesday when many believed Arsenal’s chief transfer negotiator was there.

Draxler not leaving…

The Guardian quoted the sporting director, Heldt said: “We are happy to have such a world-class player in our lines.

“I am very convinced that Draxler will be playing for us in the Rückrunde [second half of the season] but most probably beyond that.

Arsene Wenger has been speaking today in regards to his player’s availability leading up to the game against Crystal Palace this coming Sunday.

Ramsey

It was bad news for the Arsenal in regards to the Welshman who had thought to be in the frame to return for Tuesday’s match at Southampton. Today Wenger once again confirmed Arsenal fan’s fears over Ramsey’s fitness.

‘Ramsey will be out for longer because he had a setback and it doesn't look too good. It is matter of some weeks for him.’

With Arsenal chasing trophies on three fronts still, there is little chance for youngsters at the club to make an impression. This has meant that two of the Gunners young starlets are leaving the club on loan.

Forward Benik Afobe and defender Daniel Boateng are set to leave North London for loan periods away from the club till the end of the season.

Afobe joing Owls

After suffering a lengthy injury earlier in the season, Afobe has only just returned from the treatment table and is looking to gain some first team experience at Sheffield Wednesday.

Although it was reported yesterday that it seemed a deal to take the Montenegro forward on loan was all but finalised, it appears today that the deal is now off.

Heading to Spain?

With the Juventus striker seemingly on his way to North London, Spanish club Valencia subsequently showed their interest in bringing the player to La Liga.

With Valencia striker Helder Postiga agreeing a deal to leave the club and move to Lazio, the Spanish side had turned their full attention to Vucinic, who was poised to move to Inter Milan last week, before the deal collapsed.
