The best way to respond to a damaging defeat is with a convincing victory. And Arsenal have one foot in the group stages of the Champions League after a comfortable 3-0 win over Fenerbahce in Turkey.
Wojciech Szczesny - 7 – Untroubled in the first-half, but was called into action on three occasions in the second-half. He was more responsible than most for Arsenal keeping a clean sheet.
Bacary Sagna – 7 – A solid presence, both at right-back and at centre-half, especially in the second-half. In a rum way, having to play with Per Mertesacker at the centre of Arsenal's defence could help them, as they'll be renewing this partnership against Fulham on Saturday.
Per Mertesacker – 7 – The stand-in captain did an admirable job, having to clear a series of crosses in the second-half. How he leads the defence over the next few weeks will be key to how Arsenal start their season.

Arsenal’s only signing of the season Yaya Sanogo was given his first start for the club after being part of France’s U20 World Cup winning side earlier this summer. Santi Cazorla also started in his first pre-season game after a post-confederation cup break. Only four players kept their place after yesterday’s game. Jack Wilshere was not risked in the Squad.
Arsenal Team: Szczesny, Jenkinson, Sagna, Mertesacker, Gibbs, Arteta, Ramsey, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Cazorla, Walcott, Sanogo
Galatasaray Team: Muslera, Melo, Hamit, Elmander, Riera, Umut, Chedjou, Semih, Eboue, Engin, Amrabat
The opposition was captained by the one and only Eboue. Former Arsenal academy player Colin Kazim-Richards was on the bench for the opposition, alongside the likes of Sneijder and Drogba.

A performance in which Arsenal dominated in the first half lead to a disappointing close when an introduction of quality off the bench in the form of Wesley Sneijder and Didier Drogba showed up the Arsenal defence to force an unlikely comeback.
A few naïve performances towards the end of the game allowed Galatasaray back into the game to shock Arsenal on their own turf.
Wojciech Szczesny – 5 – Was rarely tested throughout the game but performed well enough when called upon, until Didier Drogba’s penalty in the 78th minute and second goal in the 87th minute, which to be fair he could do little about.
Carl Jenkinson – 5 – A few careless passes and incidences of immaturity, but mostly played well with bursts along the right flank. Struggled dealing with Wesley Sneijder in the lead up to Drogba’s second goal.

After a disjointed and error-strewn first half for Arsenal, Napoli’s two-goal lead at half time was cancelled out late on as Olivier Giroud and Laurent Koscielny completed Arsenal’s comeback in the 87th minute.
Lukasz Fabianski – 5 – Couldn’t do much to prevent Lorenzo Insigne’s opening goal, but was arguably at fault when a poorly judged attempt to intercept a Napoli through ball lead to Goran Pandev rounding the keeper and finishing from an acute angle.
Carl Jenkinson – 5 – Was at fault for Napoli’s first goal when an aerial through ball from Gokhan Inler was poorly headed away from danger allowing Lorenzo Insigne to volley the ball home. Otherwise a solid performance.

After such a fruitful pre-season tour of Asia, Arsenal faced a much sterner test against Italian side Napoli in the Emirates Cup, coming from two goals down to gain a draw against the Serie A runners-up.
In a real tale of two halves, Arsenals defences frailties were exploited, while the urgent need for Arsene Wenger to splash the cash was made all the more obvious.
Substitutes saving the day
As first half performances go, Arsenal’s was below average. It was a performance lacking in energy and creativity, while the defence left far too many gaps for Napoli to exploit. However, the defensive performance was arguably the biggest shock of the half, considering that Arsenal had conceded only 5 goals in the last 10 games of the previous season.
