Great British Olympic legend Linford Christie is rumoured to have accidentally given fans a glimpse of next year’s Gunners strip after he posted a picture of himself with Thierry Henry wearing the Puma-clad shirt.

The Gunners have worn Nike strips since 1994, however agreed to the most lucrative deal in British sponsorship history with kit makers Puma. The five-year contract will see Arsene Wenger's side wear Puma strips next season in a deal worth a massive £30million per year.

Gunners midfielder Aaron Ramsey and manager Arsène Wenger have deservedly been named the Barclays player and manager of the month for September.

Arsenal won all four of their league games in September – against Tottenham, Sunderland, Stoke and Swansea – rising to the top of the table, with Ramsey shining and scoring four goals in the process.

The award caps Ramsey’s return to form and fitness following a double fracture of his right tibia and fibula sustained in February 2010, caused by a shocking tackle by Stoke’s Ryan Shawcross.

After Sunday’s 1-1 draw at West Brom, Jack Wilshere addressed the pictures that emerged last week that appeared to show him smoking.

Speaking to Arsenal Player, the England midfielder – who scored the Gunners’ equaliser against a resilient Baggies side – said:

“I made a mistake. Players make mistakes, I’m not a smoker. I spoke with the boss, he asked me what happened and I explained to him and we sorted it out. He put me in the team today and hopefully I repaid him.”

Speaking last week manager Arsène Wenger had said that he “completely disagreed” with Wilshere’s behaviour after the 21-year-old was photographed with a cigarette outside a nightclub a few hours after the Champions League victory over Napoli.

Arsenal fans have received some good news before the imminent 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers due to be played this coming week and the next.

The normal procedure when it comes to international fixtures is for Gunners stars to travel half way across the globe and then return either jet lagged and fatigued or injured.

Tomas skips internationals

One player will fortunately not being doing this as Tomas Rosicky has been allowed to miss his country Czech Republic’s qualifiers.

The Interm Czech coach Josef Pesice said today: “Arsenal have asked us to excuse Rosicky for health reasons.

Arsenal will return to the Hawthorns, less than a fortnight after leaving victorious in the Capital One Cup, in the hope of winning an 11th straight win in all competitions.

The cup tie boasted few big name stars in either line-up, however that is likely to change as Albion look to beat Arsenal at the Hawthorns for the first time in 6 meetings in the West Midlands.

Form

The Baggies sit comfortably in 10th, reflecting their unusually mediocre start to the season. Having won 2, drawn 2 and lost 2, Albion are on a high after those 2 wins came in the past two weeks. A 3-0 win over Sunderland gave them the momentum to go to Old Trafford and pull off a stunning 2-1 victory.
