Abou Diaby’s Arsenal career looks to be in severe jeopardy as the midfielder – who has not pulled on an Arsenal shirt since LAST March – has undergone surgery which will leave him unable to play until March of 2014.

Diaby is expected to complete an entire year without football as he needs an operation on the anterior cruciate ligament injury that has plagued the last 7 months of his career, leaving him to watch from the sidelines for a further 5 months.

The French midfielder has notched up over 170 Arsenal appearances up until now, and has unbelievably been at Arsenal since 2005 when he joined from Auxerre.

Many of the Arsenal team will go into the game against Norwich this weekend on a high after successful performances for their countries over the last week.

Whilst we all hope the Gunners will be chomping at the bit to put the red shirt back on, Mr Wenger will almost certainly have one eye on the big match against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League mid-week.

Our Opponents

The stats seem to back up the belief of most Arsenal fans who deep down know that tomorrow’s game should be an easy win.

Since their infamous 4-2 victory over 20 years ago at Highbury, the Canaries have failed to win a single away game against Arsenal.  This stat doesn’t seem likely to change on Saturday as Norwich come to the league leaders whilst languishing in the relegation zone.

On 17 October Arsenal shareholders' Alisher Usmanov & Farhad Moshiri company, Red & White Securities Limited, increased its stake to just over 30%, on the same day that the club held its AGM at the Emirates.

The figure, understood to be 18,671 shares, usually triggers a mandatory full takeover bid that would require the Uzbek to make an offer for all remaining shares, which are by and large held by Stan Kroenke, current majority shareholder.

Mesut Özil and Aaron Ramsey, who both picked up knocks in international matches earlier in the week, will both be fit for the home Premier League game against Norwich City on Saturday.

The players returned to the Gunners’ training ground at London Colney yesterday and the early news is reported to be positive.

Özil picked up a bruised knee and hamstring strain in Germany’s 5-3 victory over Sweden, while Ramsey slightly aggravated the minor thigh injury he carried into the international break.

The squad reconvenes for full training today and Özil and Ramsey’s progress will be assessed further then.

FC Twente right-back Roberto Rosales has been targeted as Arsenal’s new right-back as Bacary Sagna looks set to leave the club.

The Frenchman is said to be looking to substantially improve on his current £60,000-a-week at Arsenal, and the Gunners are yet to offer him a new contract at all. He looks certain to leave the Emirates on a free.

Ro-SALE-s?

One name on the lips of the press at the moment is Twente fullback Roberto Rosales. The 24-year-old has played over 120 times for the Dutch side, and even scored against Spurs in the Champions League of 2011.
