After Arsenal appear to have lost out to Napoli for top summer target, Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain, they now seem to have turned their full attention to want-away Liverpool striker Luis Suarez.

However, now that Real Madrid are on the verge of offloading Higuain, they are now trying to capture Suarez from under the nose of Arsenal.

Bid Rejected

Arsenal have had a club-record bid rejected by Liverpool, whose manager Brendon Rodgers seems unwilling to sell his star striker. However, if the price is right, Liverpool may cash in, seeing as they are now interested in Roberto Soldado.

Arsenal’s hopes of landing their top summer target have been dealt a massive blow, after Real Madrid announced that they have agreed a deal worth 37 million Euros with Italian side Napoli.

It did appear as though Arsenal had agreed a deal with real Madrid in the region of 28 million Euros for the Argentine forward, but the Italian side have since come in and trumped that bid, meaning the Higuain to Napoli deal looks very much done and dusted.

Higuain favours Arsenal, but Napoli want him more

Gonzalo Higuain had been holding out for a move to the Gunners, as the Arsenal has been his preferred destination after deciding he wants out of Real Madrid. However, talks with Napoli may have changed this.

Exciting news for Arsenal fans – as Latin American journalist Martin Charquero claimed that the North London side were close to sealing a deal brining Luis Suarez to the Emirates.

Charquero is a friend of Suarez, with the Uruguayan giving the journalist exclusive interviews over the past 2 years. Also, he was one of the first to claim Cavani to PSG.

The journalist announced on his Twitter feed earlier on today:

“Luis Suárez se acerca al Arsenal.” Translating to ‘Luis Suarez is close to Arsenal.’

Telegraph’s writer Jeremy Wilson added on Twitter:

“Arsenal are still very much in for Suarez #lfc #afc”.

Arsenal are to beat off intense competition and tie up the signing of Brazilian international starlet Bernard.

The 20-year old is – according to French news giants L’Equipe – preparing for a medical on Friday in which he will earn up to £3million-per-year.

Wanted man

The attacking midfielder had been wanted by Tottenham, Shaktar Donetsk, Porto and Borussia Dortmund but Arsenal are now favourites to complete a deal worth up to £21million.

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has insisted that Gonzalo Higuain’s future lies at Real Madrid amid reports that the Argentine striker is set for Italian side Napoli.

Yesterday it was reported by Corriere Dello Sport that Madrid and Napoli had agreed a €35million deal for Higuain, a valuation that still falls €5million short of the Spanish side’s estimation, and there was only the issue of the player’s image rights to be negotiated.
