Arsene Wenger has gone on to confirm that Arsenal are planning to hand midfielder Jack Wilshere a new contract in January.

Jack Wilshere made a surprise loan move from Arsenal to Bournemouth this summer and it has to be said that the midfielder has managed to enjoy a fruitful time at the Vitality Stadium so far following two injury ravaged campaigns at the Emirates Stadium.

While Arsenal fans would surely have been pleased to see Wilshere getting regular action on the pitch under his belt, the England international has gone on to make some worrying admissions in recent times.

Jamie Redknapp believes that Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has what it takes to succeed Arsene Wenger at Arsenal in the foreseeable future.

Arsene Wenger is currently in the final year of his contract at the Emirates Stadium and the general consensus at the moment is that the veteran French manager will be ending his two decade long association with the Gunners at the end of the current campaign.

While Arsenal may have struggled to win trophies on a consistent basis over the last few years under Wenger, there is no doubting the fact that replacing the 67-year-old will prove to be a herculean task for the Gunners and whoever does replace him, will certainly have huge shoes to fill.

As quoted by Arsenal’s official website, manager Arsene Wenger has given an explanation as to why he is not overly concerned with Santi Cazorla’s extended absence.

Santi Cazorla is undoubtedly one of the most crucial players for Arsenal and this fact was evident last year as the midfielder’s season ending injury coincided with the Gunners’ drastic loss in form.

During the current campaign as well, Arsenal have not quite look the same fluid force since Cazorla’s absence due to an Achilles tendon problem picked up during the Champions League encounter against Ludogorets last month.

Arsenal defender Carl Jenkinson has expressed his frustration regarding the head-to-head rules implemented in the Champions League group stages.

Arsenal have performed very well in the Champions League so far this season but it does look like the Gunners will once again only qualify from their group in second place.

Despite being tied with Paris-Saint Germain on 11 points and boasting a stronger goal difference, Arsenal are currently in 2nd place in the table due to the fact that their head-to-head record against the French side is inferior.

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has revealed that Paul Scholes and Steven Gerrard are the two players he would have liked the opportunity to play alongside.

Henry clearly enjoyed a stellar career, winning every trophy imaginable with Arsenal, Barcelona and the French national team and while the attacker was a type of player who could win matches single handedly, it has to be said that he also had some wonderfully talented teammates surrounding him.

Lionel Messi, Patrick Vieira, Robert Pires, Zinedine Zidane and Xavi Hernandez are just some of the great players who Henry lined up alongside during his playing days and few can boast of such a stellar list of teammates.
