Arsène Wenger has reignited his interest in German international Lars Bender, after becoming disillusioned with his defensive midfield options for next season.

Bender, now 25 years old, is getting fit for the new season after missing out on Germany’s World Cup campaign with a thigh injury suffered just before the tournament commenced.

2019 reasons to stay

The Daily Mirror report that Bayer Leverkusen will only consider bids starting from £15 million, but Arsenal will be hoping that the injury concerns will drive down the price for the versatile midfielder.

After weeks of negotiations, Arsenal have finally agreed a fee with Barcelona for forward and World Cup star Alexis Sanchez.

Hey Big Spender

The Daily Star confirm that the clubs have finalised a deal worth approximately £32 million, which would make the Chilean Arsenal’s second most expensive transfer of all time, following Mesut Özil last summer.

As reported by Arsenal Latest on Saturday, personal terms with Sanchez have already been agreed, Italian journalist Nicolò Schira has tweeted that Sanchez will earn £4.5 million a year with additional performance related bonuses.

It is the understanding of influential Twitter user GeoffArsenal that personal terms have been agreed with Alexis Sanchez.  Geoff tweeted the following earlier today:

“Sanchez, Hearing personal terms agreed in principle before the WC, Transfer fee yet to be agreed with Barca but Arsenal are quietly confident”

This deal looks more and more likely all of the time and it is well known that Geoff is fairly reliable when it comes to transfer with Ӧzil and Monreal coming to mind.

Geoff joins a long list of reliable outlets reporting this not to mention Di Marzio.

Alexis Sánchez looks certain to leave Barcelona and the latest reports regarding his future suggest his next destination will be in the Premier League with Arsenal.

The 25-year-old enjoyed a stellar World Cup and was unlucky to exit in the round of 16 stage as his Chile team lost on penalties to Brazil.

His form during the tournament and excellent record in the 2013/14 campaign has seemingly earned himself various admirers across Europe.

World Cup quarter-finalist Mathieu Debuchy is set to complete his move to Arsenal next week, after confirming to French press that he has chosen to leave Newcastle United for North London.
