Today’s news concerns Arsenal and Costa Rica centre forward Joel Campbell.

It was reported this morning that he may be heading out on loan to a premier league club.  Both the Metro and Daily Mail have reported this story.  Campbell is attracting interest from clubs such as West Ham, Everton, Newcastle and Southampton.

It is believed that Wenger is not yet ready to put his faith in Campbell to lead the Arsenal attack. If Campbell was to go on loan then Everton could be a very good deal. The main reason for this being is Martinez puts faith in the young players as well as playing a similar brand of football to Arsenal.

The much talked transfers of Alexis Sanchez and Mathieu Debuchy may be coming to an end. It is believed that Arsenal are close to both and David Ornstein has now given us an update via Twitter.

Arsenal remain confident over landing their top two transfer targets this summer, right-back Mathieu Debuchy and striker Alexis Sanchez both edging closer to the exit door of their respective clubs.

French Fancy

Debuchy, who will be lining up for France this afternoon at the expense of ex-Gunner Bacary Sagna, has fuelled speculation that a transfer to the Emirates is imminent, after removing all Newcastle United mentions from his Twitter profile in the past 24 hours.

The 28 year-old has been linked with Arsenal in the build up to Sagna’s departure, The Independent reporting that the defender would be available for a reasonable £11 million, a fee that would suit both parties sufficiently.

Barcelona attacker Alexis Sanchez has put Arsenal in pole position for his signature, after letting his club know that he is not interested in a move to Liverpool this summer.

Soppy Sanchez

Sanchez, now back from a successful World Cup campaign with his country, is reportedly upset at the prospect of being an add-on in any potential Barcelona deal for Luis Suarez during the transfer window.

It looks like Arsenal’s first signing of the summer may be Mathieu Debuchy.

The Chronicle, Newcastle local paper is reporting that Debuchy’s agent has already been in contact with Arsenal.

However, any deal will have to wait until France’s participation in the world cup is over.

It is believed that Arsenal will have to pay £12 million for his services which mean they will double their money. Debuchy will be Sagna’s replacement which has been the centre of discussion this summer.
